The MARQ wins the DASA Award 2024<\/strong> which grants the European Academy of Museums<\/strong>. This award, which was presented last night during a ceremony in Cyprus, accredits him as a the best European museum for didactics, education and social responsibility projects<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The managing director of the Fundaci\u00f3n CV MARQ, Jos\u00e9 Alberto Cort\u00e9s<\/strong>was in charge of collecting this award for which, in addition to the museum of the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante, the Leeds Museum <\/strong>of the United Kingdom, the Hugh Lane Museum<\/strong> of Dublin (Ireland), the Futurium<\/strong> in Berlin (Germany), the Aarau City Museum<\/strong> of Switzerland and the Buzau County Museum<\/strong> of Romania. In addition, the MARQ has been the only Spanish museum<\/strong> that has taken part in this competition. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \"This award consolidates the international trajectory of the MARQ and recognises the important activity of the museum in the dissemination of history for all audiences, especially for children and the most vulnerable groups, with a high quality programme that includes historical recreations, guides and adapted and dramatised visits, conferences and seminars, among many other activities\", emphasised the president of the provincial institution, Toni P\u00e9rez<\/strong>The award was presented to the Spanish Government after learning of the prestigious award. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The President also confirmed that Alicante has offered to host the DASA AWARD of the European Academy of Museums in 2026.<\/strong>The next edition will be held in Budapest next year. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n These awards highlight the educational programmes of cultural and museum centres<\/strong>The aim of the project is to promote cultural activities, both for schoolchildren and for vulnerable groups at risk of social exclusion, the disabled, migrants and the elderly, among others, that connect with the communities closest to them, to encourage their active participation directly or in collaboration with associations and public or private entities that stand out for their innovative and daring approach, with the aim of facilitating access to culture for all citizens regardless of their origin, level of studies and abilities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The EMA, the European Museum Academy, a non-profit foundation based in the Netherlands, was created on the tenth anniversary of the death of the museologist Kenneth Hudson<\/strong> (1916-1999) by a group of European museum and cultural professionals who had participated with Hudson in the creation of the European Museum of the Year Award, under the auspices of the Council of Europe and with the patronage of Queen Fabiola of Belgium.
