The President of the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante, Carlos Maz\u00f3n<\/strong>attended this morning at the MARQ<\/strong> to the opening of the boxes from China with the pieces of the exhibition \".The Legacy of the Qin and Han Dynasties, China. The Warriors of Xi'an\".<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Maz\u00f3n was able to see at first hand these works, which will culminate in the inauguration on 28 March<\/strong>and admire some of the most outstanding pieces in the exhibition. The president thanked the exhaustive work and collaboration of technicians and experts, who this week will proceed to the definitive assembly, as well as the management of Julia Parra<\/strong>not only at the forefront of the negotiations for this exhibition, but also for the culture of the province of Alicante\". <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Following their arrival at the museum last Friday and after the end of the period of acclimatisation and adaptation to the new environment<\/strong>specialists from MARQ and the nine participating Chinese museums and institutions<\/strong>The 120 original pieces and 5 replicas<\/strong> during the unpacking and placement process, following strict compliance with the protocols for handling and preserving this important material. The exhibition highlights the presence of nine original terracotta warriors and a terracotta horse<\/strong> and replicas of two trolleys<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The Warriors of Xi'an', on view until January 2024, is the first exhibition on the legacy of the first Emperor. authorised by the People's Republic of China in the aftermath of the pandemic<\/strong>. \"Today I have had the privilege of admiring these pieces for the first time and I can assure you that this is the most important exhibition of the year in Spain, a project for which we have fought hard. The road has not been easy, but the Provincial Council has carried out an exhaustive negotiation process with the Chinese government and now we can enjoy a unique collection in the world,\" Maz\u00f3n added.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The proposal is centred on one of the most spectacular discoveries in world archaeology: the Terracotta Warriors from the First Emperor of China<\/a>declared World Heritage Site since 1987 and Prince of Asturias Award for Science in 2010.<\/strong>among many other distinctions. These are 120<\/strong> original parts<\/strong>many of them exhibited for the first time outside China<\/strong>including nine statues and a horse, a dozen terracotta figurines which is the maximum that the Chinese government allows to go out to other countries<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Curated by Dr. Marcos Martin\u00f3n-Torres<\/strong> of the University of Cambridge, <\/span>archaeologist leading a research programme at the Qin Mausoleum in Xi'an, <\/span>the exhibition will also offer, didactic and accessible resources for all audiences<\/strong>as well as a wide-ranging programme of conferences and side events<\/strong>and online courses. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
