Visits to the site of the<\/span><\/span><\/strong> Cova de l'Or<\/strong> managed from the MARQ<\/strong> in collaboration with Beniarr\u00e9s Town Council, resume this weekend<\/strong> with a suggestive route of cultural and scenic interest that starts at the Interpretation Centre located in the town centre of the municipality.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parra<\/strong>He added that \"from 18th March until 2nd July, the period of visits to this unique enclave of great archaeological and landscape value, improved in recent years thanks to the intervention of the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante, through the MARQ, with the collaboration of the municipality, will take place\".<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

From Saturday onwards, and by prior appointment through the <\/span><\/span>museum website<\/span><\/span><\/a> of the Alicante Provincial Council<\/strong>The site, which is fundamental for understanding the Neolithic period on the Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula, is open to those interested and can also enjoy the environmental and landscape heritage of the surrounding area<\/strong><\/span><\/span> of the<\/span><\/span><\/strong> <\/strong>Benicadell mountain range.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The quality and significance of the archaeological material found in the excavations carried out since the 1930s have led to the conclusion that the cavity was an important archaeological site.ocial reference place for settlers of Mediterranean origin<\/strong> who, in the middle of the 6th millennium BC, introduced the practice of agriculture and livestock farming<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Access to both the Interpretation Centre and the Cova de l'Or site is limited to guided visits promoted by the C.V. MARQ Foundation, following the agreement signed with Beniarr\u00e9s Town Council, with the aim of preserving the value of the historical legacy of the archaeological site converted into a Site Museum. Free visits are not allowed<\/strong>The maximum capacity is 15 people per show, without prior arrangement, and the maximum capacity is 15 people per show.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The guided tour begins at the Interpretation Centre with a tour of the museum and the projection of a video to contextualise the space and its surroundings. From there, the itinerary continues in vehicle -included in the service offered-. <\/strong>to the start of the path leading to the site. After a short walk, and following the instructions of the guides, you can enter the cave.  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
