A total of 101,862 people<\/strong> have toured the international exhibition of the MARQ \"Gladiators. Heroes of the Coliseum\".<\/strong>The exhibition, which closed this weekend with two open days, is being dismantled this week by Italian specialists and technicians from the Alicante museum. For seven months and through the three temporary halls of the MARQ<\/strong>Gladiators' has shown the public the world of gladiatorial combat in Roman times and how it has transcended to the present day. Promoted by the Alicante Provincial Council<\/strong>through the Provincial Archaeological Museum and the MARQ Foundation, the proposal has made available for visitors the day to day life of these fighters and the culture that revolved around them.<\/strong>The main themes are: specialisation, training, discipline, rules and dangers, but also hope and fame, redemption and even wealth and freedom.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As regards the provenance of the foreign visitors<\/strong> who have passed through the exhibition, highlights Great Britain<\/strong>followed by France, Italy and Eastern Europe<\/strong>. Likewise, the months with the highest number of visitors have been July, August and September<\/strong>. In terms of the national public, the ranking of origin is led by the alicantinos<\/strong>as well as residents in Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, Murcia, Castilla Le\u00f3n and Andalusia<\/strong> and the busiest months are extended to May, July, August and October<\/strong>. The 100,000th visitor<\/strong> attended last Saturday, as part of the open days, and received a gift from the MARQ Foundation. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the exhibition some of the most important cultural institutions in Italy have collaborated with<\/strong> such as the National Archaeological Museum of Naples and the National Roman Museum of Rome, the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum in Rome, the Archaeological Park Paestum e Velia in Paestum, the Archaeological Park of the Roman Amphitheatre and Antiquarium \"Alda Levi\" in Milan, the National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia, the Civic Museum of Rieti and the Sopraintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio per la citt\u00e0 metropolitana di Bologna e Bologna, the National Archaeological Museum of Aquileia, the Civic Museum of Rieti and the Sopraintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio per la citt\u00e0 metropolitana di Bologna e le province di Modena, Regio Emilia e Ferrara. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
