The Archaeological Museum of the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante (<\/span><\/span>MARQ<\/span><\/span><\/strong>) will be offering this Saturday, 22 October, a new <\/span><\/span>recreation at the Lucentum site<\/span><\/span><\/strong> in which the Hispania Romana historical re-enactment association will show the details of the <\/span><\/span>gladiatorial combats<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and the different types of spectacles that the coliseums hosted in Roman times.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The vice-president and deputy for Culture, Julia Parra, explained that \"with these 7th Historical Recreation Days in the space occupied by the Roman Lucentum, the MARQ aims to bring the Roman city, the origin of Alicante, to all Alicante residents and our visitors with the aim of raising awareness of and giving value to the site and showing our Roman past\". <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n From 6 p.m. and with a capacity for 250 people, experts from Hispania Romana will explain the different types of gladiators and their equipment, a training scene or gladiatorial school, the rules of combat and the development of a confrontation in the arena.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Since 13 April, when the international exhibition \"Gladiators. Heroes of the Colosseum\" has been held at the MARQ to visit this temporary exhibition. <\/span><\/span>90,000 visitors<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. During these months, the MARQ Foundation has organised a number of different <\/span><\/span>complementary activities <\/span><\/span><\/strong>which bring the world of gladiatorial combat in ancient Rome closer to museum visitors, as well as a historical recreation of combats in the arena of the Lucentum archaeological site.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Promoted by the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante through the MARQ, Museo Arqueol\u00f3gico de Alicante and the Fundaci\u00f3n CV MARQ, \"Gladiators. Heroes of the Coliseum\" is an international exhibition that brings together outstanding pieces from the world of gladiators. This exhibition is <\/span><\/span>the fruit of collaboration with some of the most important cultural institutions in Italy<\/span><\/span><\/strong> such as the National Archaeological Museum in Naples and the National Roman Museum in Rome.
