The Archaeological Museum of Alicante<\/strong> has organised a conference days <\/strong>around the international exhibition \"The Atlantic Warrior: Symbols of power? <\/strong>which will be on display in the museum's library until 16 October. Leading specialists and researchers will participate on Thursday 22 September in this proposal on the culture of the castre\u00f1a.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The First Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, Julia Parra<\/strong>will open the programme of lectures together with the Director General of Cultural Heritage of the Portuguese Ministry of Culture, Jo\u00e2o Carlos dos Santos<\/strong>. \"This day will provide the keys to understanding the uniqueness and importance of the 'Atlantic Warrior' and will also be an opportunity to delve into this unique exhibition, of great value and attraction, which is being exhibited for the first time at MARQ with pieces that are part of the treasure of Portugal,\" explained the provincial director.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In the exhibition you can see three of the most relevant pieces of the castre\u00f1a culture of the north of Portugal. The extraordinary granite sculptures of the Lezenho Warrior<\/strong> and of the Verraco de Olival dos Berr\u00f4es<\/strong> and, in particular, the Golden torques by Vilas Boas<\/strong>considered one of the masterpieces of peninsular protohistoric goldsmithery. The three pieces are considered to be National Treasury of Portugal<\/strong> and are exhibited for the first time in Alicante. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Among the researchers invited to the conference are Thomas Schattner<\/strong> of the German Archaeological Institute in Lisbon, Armando Coelho<\/strong> of the University of Porto, Virgilio Correia<\/strong> of the Museum of Conimbriga and Fernando Quesada<\/strong> of the Autonomous University of Madrid.
