The public's response to MARQ's latest proposal, Etruscans. The dawn of Rome'. <\/strong>has exceeded all expectations, with 66,100 visits to date. The good reception of the exhibition, which was inaugurated on 26 August, led to the extension of its stay in Alicante until next 20 March<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n As the vice-president and deputy for Culture pointed out, Julia Parra<\/strong>This is \"an exceptional figure given the current circumstances that have forced us to reduce the capacity inside our halls to a maximum of 60 visitors, with guided tours for only 15 people and with marked distances and itineraries, among other preventive measures against Covid-19\". <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Etruscans' includes 150 pieces from the most important excavations of ancient Etruria. It is the largest monographic exhibition on this mysterious culture to be shown in Spain in the last decade, and is an initiative of the Alicante Provincial Council<\/strong>the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of the Province of Pisa<\/strong> and Livorno<\/strong> and the MARQ Foundation<\/strong>. The proposal includes a selection of original pieces from the National Archaeological Museum of Florence<\/strong> (MAF) and the Etruscan Guarnacci Museum of Volterra<\/strong>which trace the history of Etruscan civilisation from its origins in the 9th century BC to its gradual absorption by the Romans in the 1st century BC. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In the exhibition you can admire valuable exhibits such as the Orbetello headband<\/strong>the bracelets from the necropolis of Bisenzio<\/strong>the urns of Ulysses, the Sirens and the Rape of Proserpina at Volterra<\/strong> or the male sarcophagus from the Rosavecchia necropolis<\/strong> in Tuscany. With the aim of reaching out to a wide audience, the exhibition incorporates graphic and didactic material<\/strong> which includes audiovisual projections and interactive tools.
