The president of the Ciudadanos parliamentary group in the Congress of Deputies, <\/span><\/span>In\u00e9s Arrimadas<\/span><\/span><\/strong>visited this afternoon the <\/span><\/span>MARQ<\/span><\/span><\/strong>where he has signed on to the <\/span><\/span>book of honour<\/span><\/span><\/strong> and toured the various rooms that house the museum's <\/span><\/span>exhibition<\/span><\/span><\/strong> '<\/span><\/span>The Etruscans. The dawn of Rome<\/span><\/span><\/strong>'. The President of the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante, <\/span><\/span>Carlos Maz\u00f3n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>The visit was hosted by the two leaders, during which they were able to hold a meeting with the President of the <\/span><\/span>meeting prior to the guided tour<\/span><\/span><\/strong>The first vice-president and deputy for culture also joined the meeting, <\/span><\/span>Julia Parra<\/span><\/span><\/strong>and the provincial deputy <\/span><\/span>Javier Guti\u00e9rrez<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The chairwoman of the Ciudadanos parliamentary group in the Congress of Deputies has assured that she is one of the most important passionate about history and archaeology<\/strong>I was very much looking forward to visiting this wonderful exhibition and I can tell you that it is of exceptional quality.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"The visual and content treatment is exceptional\", acknowledged Arrimadas, who pointed out that there is still time to visit it \"and I know that the number of visitors has been very good, but I encourage not only the people of Alicante but also other citizens to come and see it, because it is unique and it is very difficult to see a specific exhibition of Etruscans with the quality of the works that have been collected\". <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, Maz\u00f3n expressed how proud he was \"for the MARQ and for the province of Alicante to have the visit of personalities from the political, institutional and cultural spheres of our country\". <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\"With this visit, In\u00e9s Arrimadas becomes from today an ambassador not only for the Etruscan exhibition, but also for MARQ itself\", said the president, who highlighted \"the museum's commitment to the renovation of the traditional exhibition system\".  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The MARQ<\/span><\/span> hosts until next December 'Etruscans. The dawn of Rome', the largest monographic exhibition in Spain<\/strong> in the last decade, with 150 pieces<\/strong> from some of the most important excavations in ancient Etruria<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The president of the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante said that in recent months \"nearly 40,000 visitors of different origins and ages have been able to see it\", while indicating that it is a \"unique exhibition that allows us at this time to be a cultural and museum reference in Spain, so we understand the interest aroused by the collection\". <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This exhibition is an initiative of the MARQ Foundation<\/strong> and the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of the Province of Pisa and Livorno <\/strong>and includes a selection of original pieces from the National Archaeological Museum of Florence <\/strong>(MAF) and the Etruscan Guarnacci Museum of Volterra<\/strong>one of the oldest in Italy. In addition, the company Contemporanea Progetti, based in Florence, was involved in the project. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During the itinerary through the three temporary rooms<\/strong>Arrimadas, accompanied by Maz\u00f3n and Parra, has been able to appreciate the key points on the history of the etruscan civilisation<\/strong>from its origins in the 9th century BC to its gradual absorption by the Romans in the 1st century BC. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the collection you can admire valuable objects such as the Orbetello headband<\/strong> or the bracelets from the necropolis of Bisenzio<\/strong>as well as pieces of armament and ceramic material<\/strong>. The most important part, consisting of funerary pieces<\/strong>includes works such as the Ulysses urns<\/strong>, of the Sirens and the Rape of Proserpina of Volterra<\/strong> or the sarcophagus<\/strong> male from the necropolis of Rosavecchia<\/strong> in Tuscany. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
