The Archaeological Museum of Alicante<\/strong> has organised a calendar of activities based around the figure of the archaeologist Solveig Norstr\u00f6m<\/strong> to commemorate the International Women's Day<\/strong>. The proposals organised by the Didactic and Accessibility Unit of the C.V. MARQ Foundation<\/strong> will take place this weekend and include the publication of a guide, a talk and online workshops for children.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n In this way, the Museum pays homage to the Swedish researcher<\/strong>so closely linked to the archaeological heritage of the province, on the occasion of his death last January<\/strong>. The deputy for Culture and vice-president of the Diputaci\u00f3n, Julia Parra<\/strong>Nordstr\u00f6m was a woman ahead of her time who carried out her professional activity at a time when this discipline and the management of excavations fell mainly to men. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n She said that \"today her career is surprising not only for her rigour as a field archaeologist, but also for her courage in entering a foreign society whose values were at that time very different from those of her country of origin\". <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The MARQ has produced a didactic guide<\/strong> on Solveig Nordstr\u00f6m, which will be the second volume of the collection. \"Archaeology in feminine\".<\/strong>The aim of this project is to make the role of women in archaeology more visible in order to promoting practices that favour gender equality<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n There are two activities designed for the youngest children workshops on Iberian culture<\/strong>This was the period on which most of Solveig's work focused. The little ones will discover the life of Solveig and then take part in an Iberian ex-voto workshop to learn about the world of religion and the temples of the Iberians of Contestania.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Materials needed to do the workshop at home: <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>salt dough (1 cup of flour + half cup of salt + water until the dough is formed), toothpick, paintbrush, white and orange paint to colour the ceramics, paint container.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
