Once again this year, MARQ has completed its calendar of Christmas events with an excellent reception from the public, as 1,906 visitors have passed through the museum to enjoy with us the special programme for these days. The workshops and theatre performances designed for the youngest members of the family brought together 103 children, and 90 people took part in the events to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Particularly moving was the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, led by the president and vice-president of the Provincial Council, Carlos Maz\u00f3n and Julia Parra, in which tribute was paid to<\/span> the work carried out by the health sector in the face of the Covid-19 crisis and which was hosted by the president of the College of Doctors, Maribel Moya<\/span><\/strong>and by the vice-president of the College of Nursing, Francisco G\u00f3mez<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Visitors took advantage of these dates to visit two interesting exhibitions: The Knight of Ifach. The Twilight of the Medieval City, <\/em>in the MARQ foyer and Cova de l'Or: Site Museum, <\/em>in space Waves in the Sky.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The MARQ Christmas Campaign has been marked this year by the strict security measures implemented to carry out each and every one of the programmed activities. Recently, the MARQ was awarded the Covid-19 prepared establishment distinction by the Secretary of State for Tourism, after passing the evaluation certifying the implementation by the Archaeological Museum of Alicante of Advanced Good Practices for the reduction of the risk of SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus infection.<\/span> This recognition is added to the 'Safe Tourism Certified' seal obtained by the CV-MARQ Foundation, a distinction of reference in safe tourism issued by the Spanish Tourism Quality Institute ICTE.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This security plan includes measures and recommendations that include a thermo-controlled area, a two-metre safety distance between people, the obligatory use of masks, hygiene elements such as hydroalcoholic gel and mats for disinfecting footwear. Likewise, one-way visit itineraries have been established, guided groups reduced to eight people and restricted capacity in all the rooms.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, the Fundaci\u00f3n C.V. MARQ has achieved the implementation and certification of a Universal Accessibility Management System in accordance with the UNE 170001-2:2007 standard, which demonstrates its commitment to achieving \"a MARQ for all\", and represents a further step towards equal rights and opportunities for all people, regardless of their abilities, thus ensuring that all visitors, whatever their condition, can enjoy the content and activities offered by the museum and the sites of the Illeta and Lucentum with physical, sensory and cognitive access to the important legacy that they treasure.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
