The <\/span><\/span>Foundation of the Archaeological Museum of the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante (Alicante Provincial Council)<\/strong><\/span><\/span> a new edition of the <\/span><\/span>MARQ+65' programme<\/strong><\/span><\/span> carried out in collaboration with <\/span><\/span>ASAUTE Senior Citizen's Classrooms<\/strong><\/span><\/span>. The face-to-face course will take place this year between October 2020 and June 2021 with a reduced group of <\/span><\/span>12 students per class<\/strong><\/span><\/span> to ensure the distance and safety measures imposed by the health authorities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Vice-President and Member of Parliament for Culture, <\/span><\/span>Julia Parra,<\/strong><\/span><\/span> explained that \"<\/span><\/span>the aim is to convert the MARQ into a training space in which to make our heritage known and to give value to the experience of the elderly, promoting interpersonal relationships and coexistence and making them participants in Alicante's cultural life.<\/span><\/span>\".<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The coordination and classes will be given on Fridays from 11:00 a.m. by the technicians of the Didactics and Accessibility Unit of the Foundation. The programme is aimed at senior citizens who are part of ASAUTE (Aulas de la Tercera Edad). It is planned that, <\/span><\/span>in the event of any eventuality<\/strong><\/span><\/span> that would lead to a physical interruption of the project,<\/span><\/span> classes can continue virtually<\/strong><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The course, which was presented by the managing director of the MARQ Foundation, <\/span><\/span>Jos\u00e9 Alberto Cort\u00e9s<\/strong><\/span><\/span>is divided into blocks. The month of October will be dedicated to <\/span><\/span>analysis of the science of archaeology, meaning and methods and practical examples<\/strong><\/span><\/span>. In November the sessions will focus on archaeology to highlight the importance of this science. In December, topics related to the history of the city of Alicante will be dealt with, covering the old town and the traditional centre. In January, cinema in history will be analysed, and in February, historical series. The programme for the months of March and April includes historical sessions dedicated to strategic areas of the province of Alicante and on Alicante's heritage. Finally, in May, the temporary exhibition 'The terracotta warriors of Xi'an. Eternal guardians of the first emperor' which is scheduled to arrive at MARQ in April.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

'MARQ +65'.<\/strong><\/span><\/span> is a project aimed at contributing to the cultural and social growth of the elderly and intergenerational dialogue. With this programme, the museum becomes an open space where the experience of the elderly is valued and relationships are strengthened.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
