The Archaeological Museum of Alicante<\/strong> was the setting this morning for the prize-giving ceremony of the A MARQ of stories' competition<\/strong>which this year were collected by the pupils from the El Somni Special Education School<\/strong>. The competition, now in its eleventh year, aims to stimulate interest in our history and heritage<\/strong>as well as to the world of archaeology<\/strong>among students in the province. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The presentation of diplomas to the authors of the winning story, Lupi and History<\/strong>was chaired by the managing director of the MARQ Foundation, Jos\u00e9 Alberto Cort\u00e9s<\/strong>the director of El Somni, Emilio Jos\u00e9 Ruiz<\/strong>and the technical director of the archaeological museum, Manuel Olcina<\/strong>. The ceremony was followed by a puppet show starring Lupi, a character from the award-winning story, and the award-winning authors then enjoyed a tour of the museum and its exhibitions.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Through this proposal, the MARQ invites schoolchildren to discover the museum as a place where they can have fun while learning, understand the importance of the extraordinary legacy we treasure<\/strong> as a province, to enhance the teamwork<\/strong> and encouraging reading and creativity<\/strong>among other things. Schools from all over the province have participated in this year's competition, fulfilling another of the project's objectives, which the museum is present in classrooms throughout the school year<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The participating centres had to present a story set in one of the historical periods present in the MARQ galleries.
