The MARQ<\/strong> is hosting an exhibition throughout the day today. series of conferences<\/strong> about culture<\/strong>, the art <\/strong>and Iranian civilisation<\/strong> in charge of professors, doctors and experts<\/strong> in the field. One hundred<\/strong> of students, academics and the general public will attend the talks, the inauguration of which was attended by the deputy for Culture and Education, C\u00e9sar Augusto Asencio<\/strong>accompanied by the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Alicante, Juan Francisco Mesa<\/strong>the technical director of MARQ, Manuel Olcina<\/strong>and the director of the CV-MARQ Foundation, Jos\u00e9 Alberto Cort\u00e9s.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The proposal is part of the parallel activities to the international exhibition currently on display at the museum until next September, entitled Iran. Cradle of civilisations'.<\/strong>As the deputy explained, he stressed the importance of these initiatives to contextualise and provide more information on the international exhibitions hosted by the museum. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Cutillas<\/strong>from the University of Alicante, who spoke on 'The Carmelite missions and missionaries in Safavid Iran. Diplomacy and Religious Politics in the 16th-17th centuries'. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Also during the morning, the following spoke Enrique Garcia<\/strong>The 'Spain and Iran during the First World War', from the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas, CSIC-Madrid' to detail the relationship between 'Spain and Iran during the First World War'. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After the conclusions and questions, the afternoon session will continue with a talk by Fereidoun Biglari<\/strong>Deputy Director for Cultural Affairs of the National Museum of Iran, who will unveil the 'Palaeolithic Occupation of Iran, new evidence from the Zagros and Alborz Mountains'. He will be followed by Kamyar Abdi<\/strong>D. in Archaeology from the University of Michigan, USA, will explain the 'The axis of the four pillars. The essential role of the monarchy in the development of Iranian civilisation'. Finally, Karam Mirzaei<\/strong>D. in Art Research from the School of Art, Shahed University, Iran, will speak on 'Architectural Ornaments from the 6th to 14th centuries in the Museum of Archaeology and Islamic Art of Iran'. The closing speech will be given by Jos\u00e9 Alberto Cort\u00e9s and Jos\u00e9 Cutillas. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Exhibition on Iran<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Inaugurated last March, <\/span><\/span>Iran, Cradle of Civilisations' is an ambitious exhibition that traces the trajectory of one of the world's most important most remote and prolific cultures<\/strong> of history through 195 pieces<\/strong>many from sites that are World Heritage<\/strong>. <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
