Europe Day celebrates the peace and unity of the continent every 9 May. The date coincides with the anniversary of Schuman's historic declaration in Paris in 1950, which set out his idea of a new form of political cooperation in Europe that would make war between European nations unthinkable. That idea was for a European institution to pool and manage the production of coal and steel. Just one year later, the Treaty establishing such an institution was signed. Schuman's proposal is seen as the beginning of what is now the European Union.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Over the years, 9 May has become the European symbol which, together with the flag, the anthem, the motto and the single currency (the euro), identifies the political entity of the European Union. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Under the slogan \"<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>Choose your future<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>\"<\/span><\/span><\/span>On Thursday, the MARQ, winner of the 2004 Best Museum in Europe Award, will join in this celebration with educational activities aimed at familiarising our youngest friends with Europe by promoting knowledge of the cultural aspects of the Union.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The schools will play different games such as \"Travel around Europe with MARQ<\/em>In the \"European Union\", the participating students will have to guess to which European Union member country the different monuments, museums and emblematic places that we will show them belong. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The participating schools will be given educational material related to the different international exhibitions that the MARQ has exhibited from museums and member countries of the E.U. so that the pupils can learn about the important cultural legacy that Europe treasures.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Finally, they will make a European Union Flag in which they will write the names of all the members of the class, which we will then publish on the MARQ website as a souvenir of this special day.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" El Día de Europa celebra cada 9 de mayo la paz y la unidad [\u2026]<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"kia_subtitle":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-34255","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry"],"meta_box":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34255","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=34255"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/34255\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=34255"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=34255"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=34255"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
