In the late 1960s the D\u00e1maso Navarro Group<\/strong> started work on the recovery of the Petrer's rich archaeological and ethnological heritage<\/strong>. Now, fifty years later, and thanks to the collections housed in the local museum that bears the name of the famous researcher, the MARQ<\/strong> has inaugurated an exhibition that offers visitors a walk through the history of this village in the Vinalop\u00f3 Valley<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Member of Parliament for Culture and Education, C\u00e9sar Augusto Asencio<\/strong>has presented the exhibition which, entitled <\/span><\/span><\/span>Petrer. Archaeology and museum'.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>reviews the <\/span><\/span><\/span>important sites <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong>of the area, such as the Roman artisan quarter of Villa Petraria, and includes objects typical of the pre-industrial society of Petreres.<\/span><\/span><\/span>. The mayoress and the town's councillor for culture were also present, Irene Navarro and Fernando Portillo<\/strong>respectively, as well as the technical director of MARQ, Manuel Olcina<\/strong>The exhibition was curated by the director of the D\u00e1maso Navarro Museum and curator of the exhibition, Fernando Tendero<\/strong>the Managing Director of the Caja Murcia Foundation, Pascual Mart\u00ednez, <\/strong>as well as the Managing Director of MARQ, Jos\u00e9 Alberto Cort\u00e9s<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Asencio stressed that \"knowing our roots and our history is essential and that is the purpose of the cycle of local museums that more than a decade ago, in 2004, opened a successful line of collaboration and dissemination between the MARQ and the town councils and museums of our province.
