A total of 97,590 people<\/strong> have visited the international exhibition \"<\/em><\/span><\/span>Mayas. The enigma of the lost cities<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\" <\/em>which has hosted the MARQ<\/strong> from 25 May 2017 until this Sunday 7 January. The museum reached record figures<\/strong> during the open doors week - held from 2 to 7 January to close the exhibition - with nearly 6,000 visitors <\/strong>and over the course of 2017 more than 174,000 people<\/strong> have passed through their facilities and sites<\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The exhibition, which was attended by a spectacular exhibition design<\/strong>has provided first-hand knowledge of the legacy of one of the world's most fabulous civilisations, from the surprising recreation of the origin of this culture, through the monumental architecture<\/strong> The exhibition also includes pieces of great historical value, such as the figure of the pyramids and the mysteries of hieroglyphic writing arranged on stelae or lintels, as well as a reproduction of an imposing Mayan temple. In addition, the proposal has included pieces of great historical value, such as the figure of the of a man with the attributes of a jaguar,<\/strong> which has garnered all the praise from visitors, a JADE MASK<\/strong>, various trails<\/strong>, plates or censers<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The Deputy for Culture, C\u00e9sar Augusto Asencio<\/strong>The quality of this international collaborative project \"<\/strong>which has been several years in the making and which has provided a unique opportunity to see pieces that will not be exhibited in Europe for a long time\". <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Over the last few months, the Alicante museum has been offering the public the essence of this civilisation through an important collection of 200 pieces <\/strong>from the National Museum of<\/strong> Archaeology and Ethnology of Guatemala<\/strong> (MUNAE) and two Guatemalan institutions, the Ruta Maya Foundation<\/strong> and the Neria Herrera Collection of the Museum Juan Antonio Vald\u00e9s<\/strong>.
