The countdown begins for the Maya<\/strong> leave Alicante<\/strong> and the MARQ<\/strong> has organised a OPEN DOORS WEEK<\/strong>of the 2 to 7 January,<\/strong> in which the laggards will be able to enjoy and learn first-hand<\/strong> one of the the world's most fabulous civilisations<\/strong>. In addition, the museum has everything ready to receive the European Year of Cultural Heritage<\/strong>officially unveiled in Milan on 7 December.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Last May, the Alicante society gave a warm welcome to \"Mayas. The enigma of the lost cities\".<\/strong>Now, seven months after the expectation in the province, the museum is preparing to bid farewell to one of the international exhibitions that has aroused most interest in the province, which has been awarded the EMPORIA DE ORO for Design, as the Best Exhibition of 2017 in Spain. The exhibition occupies a total of four rooms, decorated with a spectacular exhibition design<\/strong>. In the first one we find a surprising recreation of the origin of this civilisation through the monumental architecture<\/strong> of the pyramids and the mysteries of the hieroglyphic writing arranged on stelae or lintels. It is precisely this room that has attracted the most attention from the public, who have shown particular interest in the interactive panels<\/strong> and the mysteries of the Mayan calendar.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In the second room, a Mayan temple<\/strong> reproduces the heyday of the culture in the so-called Classical Period<\/strong> with the development of large cities such as Tikal and Calakmul<\/strong>The second room contains the monumental palaces and the importance of the deified king and his court. The third room houses the great stone realisations<\/strong>: stelae, panels and monumental sculptures<\/strong>The paintings of San Bartolo, which bring us closer to the profound beliefs of this civilisation through an understanding of the paintings of San Bartolo. Among them, the figure <\/span><\/span><\/span>of a man with the attributes of a jaguar<\/span><\/span><\/strong> which has garnered praise from the visitors<\/span><\/span>.
