{"id":33913,"date":"2017-04-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2017-04-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/2017\/04\/11\/lunes-santo-en-el-marq\/"},"modified":"2017-04-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2017-04-11T00:00:00","slug":"lunes-santo-en-el-marq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marqalicante-admin.qwair.com\/en\/lunes-santo-en-el-marq\/","title":{"rendered":"Easter Monday at MARQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img alt='' src='\/contenido\/genericas\/IMG_0353.JPG' style='width: 448px; height: 298px;' \/><\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify;'>The president of the Junta Mayor de Hermandades y Cofrad\u00edas de la Semana Santa de Alicante, Alberto Pay\u00e1, and the national deputy Asunci\u00f3n S\u00e1nchez Zaplana, presided over the procession of the Prendimiento and Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Consuelo, which departed at 17.45h yesterday, Easter Monday, from the courtyard of the Provincial Archaeological Museum.<\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify;'>As has become traditional, the gardens of the Marq hosted the work of ornamentation of the three thrones of the Brotherhood of the Prendimiento and Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Consuelo and the processional departure of their brotherhoods. The images of El Lavatorio, El Prendimiento and Nuestra Se\u00f1ora del Consuelo, by the master Antonio Garc\u00eda Mengual, once the floral arrangement was finished, were exposed to the public from midday until the start of the procession, in which they were accompanied by the musical group La Sinf\u00f3nica de Crevillent.<\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify;'>This brotherhood was constituted in March 1996 and the following year its first procession took place. It was founded by former workers of the now defunct Provincial Hospital, now the Marq, and residents of the Pla neighbourhood.
