Enjoying and admiring art by broadening the senses is the proposal of the new exhibition opened this morning at the MARQ<\/strong>. This is the exhibition<\/strong> which celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Typhlological Museum <\/strong>that theONCE<\/strong> is at its headquarters in Madrid and is starting its itinerancy in the Alicante museum.<\/p>\n The Deputy for Culture, C\u00e9sar Augusto Asencio<\/strong>has presented this proposal which brings together 31 pieces<\/strong> The collection includes paintings, photographs, sculptures and models, as well as utensils related to typhlology. In short, it is a collection that makes up a small \"museum of objects<\/strong> and offers visitors art to see and touch, as well as works by people with severe visual impairment.<\/p>\n Asencio highlighted the commitment of the Alicante Provincial Council<\/strong> with disabled people and the history of the Provincial Archaeological Museum with regard to the accessibility<\/strong> of its facilities. \"The MARQ has been working for years to bring the province's cultural heritage closer to all groups in society and to achieve the full integration of people with disabilities. To this end it has all kinds of adaptations, such as the creation of signed multimedia guides, the creation of manuals in Braille or the reproduction of adapted exhibits and, in this sense, the collaboration with ONCE has managed to overcome the barriers of non-accessibility.<\/u>\". <\/p>\n The opening ceremony was also attended by the curator of the exhibition, Gema Sala<\/strong>the director of the ONCE in Alicante, Estela Medina<\/strong>The vice-president of the ONCE Territorial Council in the Valencian Community, Rafaela Alcaide<\/strong>and the technical director of the museum, Manolo Olcina<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Through this new proposal, which will remain on display until the end of the year. 26 February<\/strong>Visitors will be able to see and touch the model of the Arab Palaces of the Alhambra or the Taj Mahal, but also have the opportunity to admire works of art - painting, photography and sculpture - created by blind or severely visually impaired people. Authors such as Ata\u00falfo Casado<\/strong>, Carme Oll\u00e9<\/strong>, Juan Torre<\/strong>, M\u00aa Covandonga Mart\u00edn<\/strong>, Rafael Arias<\/strong>, Marcelo Bilevich<\/strong>, Eduardo Matute<\/strong>, Kelly Arrontes<\/strong>, Jos\u00e9 Miguel Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>,Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Prieto<\/strong>,Andr\u00e9s Clariana<\/strong>,Miguel Detrell <\/strong>oC\u00e9sar Delgado<\/strong>among others, have collaborated in this exhibition.<\/p>\n In addition, it is exhibiting typhlological material<\/strong> that have been used or are used by blind people, such as a writing pattern<\/strong> with visual characters, a abacus<\/strong>a calculating machine<\/strong> or the Llorens Writing Book<\/strong>dated 1872. It is worth noting that all the pieces have the titles in Braille and are provided with QR codes.<\/strong> in addition to beepcons<\/em><\/strong>The new system is based on the use of guidance beacons to facilitate the identification and localisation of nearby objects.<\/p>\n The ONCE Typhlological Museum<\/strong> is a space conceived so that visitors can see and touch the pieces, although its idiosyncrasy is based on the fact that was born by decision of its users and is designed by them, tailored to their needs.<\/strong>. It showcases the organisation's cultural heritage and also hosts temporary samples<\/strong> and museum outreach through the travelling exhibition<\/strong> of its funds.
