     The President of the Diputaci\u00f3n de Alicante, <\/span>C\u00e9sar S\u00e1nchez<\/strong>reaffirmed yesterday the <\/span>commitment of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante<\/strong> to facilitate the <\/span>access to culture<\/strong> to people with functional diversity. This was ratified after the signing of agreements with the Cajamar Valencian Community Foundation and the Association of Deafblind People of the Valencian Community (Asocide).<\/span><\/p>\n

   Sanchez stressed that these agreements \"allow us to continue working on different initiatives as part of our desire to make the contents and activities organised by MARQ more accessible.<\/u>\"which, he recalled, won the ONCE Valencian Community Solidarity Award 2013<\/strong> for its work in favour of the full normalisation and integration of people with functional disabilities.<\/p>\n

      On the one hand, S\u00e1nchez renewed the collaboration agreement with the Fundaci\u00f3n Cajamar Comunidad Valenciana, together with its vice president Ra\u00fal Lafuente<\/strong>with a view to the development of a accessibility programme package <\/strong>launched by the museum \"and which offers great possibilities to the group of disabled people who have traditionally had difficulties in accessing knowledge and culture.<\/u>\"Sanchez pointed out.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

   In this way, the agreement will allow the continuation of \"Talking with your hands<\/strong>guided and dramatised visits campaign in Sign Language<\/strong> to the permanent exhibition and to the archaeological sites, as well as to the exhibition \"Vikings. Warriors of the North. Giants of the Sea\".<\/strong> which will be inaugurated on 19 May. In addition, thanks to the collaboration of the Fundaci\u00f3n Cajamar Comunidad Valenciana, the A fairytale hospital\" project<\/strong>aimed at children with oncological and long-term illnesses, in collaboration with the Paediatrics Service and the UPH of the General Hospital of Alicante.<\/p>\n

      Finally, it is also possible to hold the III International Congress on Education and Accessibility<\/strong>Accessibility and Inclusion in Cultural and Natural Heritage Tourism, to be held in Alicante and La Vila Joiosa next October.<\/p>\n

   On the other hand, the president of the provincial institution and Francisco Trigueros<\/strong>on behalf of Asocide, signed an agreement to promote all those activities that allow deafblind people to get closer to the MARQ. S\u00e1nchez explained the importance of this direct contact<\/strong> in the learning process<\/strong> and the enjoyment it brings to these people, as well as the enjoyment it brings to them as a leisure and free time activities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

      In this sense, and among other agreements that include the dissemination of activities and the possibility of use some facilities for meetings or courses<\/strong>the Museum will allow the accessibility through touch<\/strong> to a set of parts and materials, as well as the visit to the \"Cabinet of collections and researchers\".<\/strong> to take advantage of its great didactic potential.<\/p>\n
