The aim of this initiative is to <strong>completing and renewing the expository discourse<\/strong> of the <strong>new rooms<\/strong> of the aspense centre dedicated to the <strong>archaeologist Nieves Rosell\u00f3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The President of the Alicante Provincial Council <strong>Luisa Pastor<\/strong>&nbsp;inaugurated this space yesterday, accompanied by the mayor of the locality <strong>Manuel D\u00edez<\/strong>the director of MARQ <strong>Manuel Olcina<\/strong> and the director of the Historical Museum of Aspe <strong>Mar\u00eda Bern\u00e1<\/strong>. The event was also attended by relatives of the archaeologist, provincial deputies and members of the municipal corporation.<\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Among the pieces on loan from the Alicante museum, which <strong>span chronologically from prehistoric to medieval times.<\/strong>The <strong>ceramic vessels<\/strong>a <strong>clay loom weight<\/strong>some <strong>bone artefacts <\/strong>and various <strong>sickle teeth<\/strong> flint carvings from the Bronze Age from <strong>La Horna and Tabay\u00e1<\/strong>as well as a lot of pieces from the medieval Islamic period of the <strong>River Castle<\/strong> which formed part of the daily life of the inhabitants of the Almohad fortress and were used for cooking, serving food and storing water. One of the most outstanding features of this ensemble is a <strong>painted jug, a flask or small glazed bottle<\/strong> in green, <strong>a basin<\/strong> for the presentation and consumption of food or a <strong>lamp<\/strong>among other objects.<\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Pastor commented that <u>the collaboration between the two museum complexes has made it possible to renew the permanent exhibition of Aspe's archaeological collection, improving and extending its exhibition discourse and highlighting the rich heritage of the municipality.<\/u>. <u>In addition<\/u>as specified by the President, <u>The new rooms bear the name of a distinguished archaeologist from Aspas who dedicated herself to the study of different archaeological sites and collections in the province and to whom we owe part of the historical legacy that has survived to the present day. <\/u><\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The MARQ has also contributed to the conservation and staging of Aspe's local heritage with the <strong>restoration of more than thirty pieces<\/strong> The museum has also provided technical advice and graphic and documentary material. The Castillo del R\u00edo and the Visigothic Necropolis of Vistalegre are some of the sites that Nieves Rosell\u00f3, who was in charge of the excavation of the <strong>the MARQ dedicated a posthumous tribute in 2012<\/strong> with the publication of their works that have contributed to the <strong>knowledge of the Late Roman funerary world in Medio Vinalop\u00f3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify'><strong><u>Homage to Nieves Rosell\u00f3 Cremades<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style='text-align: justify'>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The archaeologist Nieves Rosell\u00f3 gives her name to the new rooms of the museum in Aspe. Rosell\u00f3 Cremades was born in Aspe in 1968, where she died in 2010. In this municipality she did her first studies and, later, <strong>graduated in History from the University of Alicante.<\/strong>specialising in archaeology.
