The Foundation of the Valencian Community MARQ<\/strong> has prepared a full and varied programme of fun and educational activities for the youngest members of the family over the Christmas holidays. The traditional festival of the lighting of theChristmas tree<\/strong> the next Friday 13 December at 19:00 hours<\/strong> will mark the start of these free proposals, which also include,t<\/strong>children's theatre<\/strong>,royal mailbox<\/strong>, wishing tree<\/strong>, inflatables<\/strong>, concerts<\/strong>, raffles and workshops<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In addition, the museum is showing its most altruistic side these days and is making available to all citizens a '.solidarity space<\/strong>' to collect toys and<\/strong> non-perishable food<\/strong> which will then be given to the neediest families through the Red Cross and the Alicante Food Bank. Solidarity will be another of the centre's proposals.<\/p>\n The special Christmas calendar offers youngsters the opportunity to enjoy and learn through a series of activities shows and<\/strong> theatre plays<\/strong> which will be performed on days<\/strong> 26 <\/strong>(Lollipop Theatre: In Search of the Three Wise Men) and 27 December <\/strong>(P\u00e0mpol Teatre: An elephant?), as well as the 2 <\/strong>(Vicente de Ram\u00f3n and Patricia R\u00edos: Space Travel) and 3 January <\/strong>(El Mago Antu\u00e1n: Family Magic)at 12.30 p.m. <\/strong>at the MARQ. Admission will be free and limited to the capacity of the hall.<\/p>\n Among the activities planned are also a series of educational workshops<\/strong> for children aged 6 to 12 years<\/strong> related to the museum's permanent collection and temporary exhibition \"The Salt Kingdom. <\/em>In this way, the children will be able to discover various aspects related to their ancestors while they play and have fun creating amber necklaces, reproductions of bronze brooches or ceramic vessels. Those interested in taking part in this initiative, which will take place from 11:00 to 12:30, must pre-register<\/strong> at the centre's ticket offices or by sending an e-mail to the following address llumiqclub@marqalicante.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Music takes centre stage this Christmas with two performances to be held in the MARQ Library. The Saturday 14 December at 8.30 p.m.<\/strong> will take place a dol\u00e7aina and organ concert<\/strong>while the monday 16<\/strong>at the same time, the Chamber Choir of the l'Harmonia Musical Society <\/strong>will offer a solidarity recital, as the ticket will be exchanged for non-perishable food. <\/p>\n Friends of the museum and members of the Club Llumiq who come to the centre during these days will also be able to deposit your letter <\/strong>for the Three Wise Men from the East in the<\/strong> Royal Mailbox<\/strong> o hanging a ball<\/strong> with their messages and hopes for the coming year 2014 in the famous<\/strong> 'wishing tree<\/strong>'. Finally, the days 2<\/strong>,3 and 4 January<\/strong>MARQ will be hosting a series of car-related activities<\/strong> which will include an exhibition of classic and racing cars, inflatables, driving simulators and raffles, among other proposals.
