The Archaeological Museum of Alicante<\/strong> has expanded the contents of its website<\/strong> with a new information area dedicated to numismatics. Through this section, the MARQ aims to disseminate and bring the public closer to part of the valuable coin collection<\/strong>,medals and jetons<\/strong> The collection comes from excavation campaigns at sites in the province, chance finds and private collections.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

More than 200 pieces <\/strong>This virtual section is made up of complete information sheets that allow the visitor to consult the photographs of the obverse and reverse of the coins<\/strong>,your description<\/strong>,chronology or issuing entity<\/strong>among other things. In addition, the elements are also presented grouped according to the type of metal<\/strong>, its mints<\/strong>, their cultural affiliations and background<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The creation of this space is also a complement to the recently inaugurated travelling exhibition \"Coins. All sides of the story<\/strong>\" <\/em>which is on display in the Archaeological and History Museum of Elche. A total of 150 objects <\/strong>This exhibition explains the reasons for the appearance, disappearance and survival of the different values, coins and monetary systems that have been used in the province throughout history.<\/p>\n

These two actions highlight the MARQ's interest in the dissemination and enhancement of Alicante's cultural heritage<\/strong>The exhibition will be held both through exhibitions in its halls and through the use of Internet resources.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
