The President of the Alicante Provincial Council Luisa Pastor <\/strong>and the Mayor of La Vila Joiosa Jaime<\/strong>Lloret<\/strong> presented this morning the exhibition, which will open this afternoon at 20:00 hours<\/strong>. Also taking part in the event were the deputy for Culture Juan Bautista Rosell\u00f3<\/strong>the local councillor for culture Jos\u00e9 Lloret<\/strong>the curator of the exhibition Antonio Espinosa<\/strong>as well as the director-manager and the technical director of MARQ, Jos\u00e9 Alberto Cort\u00e9s and Manuel Olcina<\/strong>respectively.<\/p>\n The exhibition, which occupies the two temporary rooms of the museum<\/strong>is made up of 205 pieces, 190 of which come from the Municipal Archaeological Museum of La Vila and another 15 from the MARQ collection.<\/strong>. The exhibition is presented in different thematic areas<\/strong>analysing the historical evolution of the municipality from antiquity to contemporary times.<\/p>\n The Phoenician-Punic necklace from Poble Nou<\/strong>composed of 32 gold beads, and the table with meat market inscription<\/strong> of the Roman city are two of the protagonists of this exhibition, which showcases the monumental heritage of the city and its impact on the history of the province. In addition, are on public display for the first time<\/strong> part of the recovered parts<\/strong> of the largest Roman wreck in the Mediterranean, El Bou-Ferrer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n This is the ninth exhibition of the \"Municipal Museums at MARQ<\/strong>\"With this exhibition, the Alicante complex aims to showcase the province's most important archaeological collections.<\/p>\n Technicians from the museum in Alicante and La Vila Joiosa have restored some of the objects on display, such as the Roman infant burial site at La Creueta<\/strong> or the la garceta roman mural painting<\/strong> and the lizard<\/strong>among others.<\/p>\n Vilamuseu<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n The Museum of La Vila Joiosa has one of the most varied and relevant museum collections in the Valencian Community. The The Ethnographic and Historical Museum of La Vila Joiosa was founded in 1973. <\/strong>by its first director Jos\u00e9 Pay\u00e1 Nicolau<\/strong> and a group of collaborators.<\/p>\n In 2011, the municipality launched a new project, Vilamuseu<\/strong>which will constitute a research centre<\/strong>, conservation and outreach<\/strong> of a museum collection of great relevance and an exceptional monumental heritage, an integrated example of museology.<\/p>\n Luisa Pastor pointed out that \"Vilamuseu is a project for the future of the municipality. The Marina Baixa is important for the economy of our province and this cultural initiative will complement the tourist offer of the area.<\/u>\".<\/p>\n For his part, Jaime Lloret has indicated that \".La Vila is an ancient city, historical capital of the Marina Baixa.
