Rápitas in the western limit of medieval Islam. Its impact on the configuration of the border landscape in the eastern sector of the early medieval Ebro valley: La Ràpita (Lleida).
In the medieval Islamic context, the Ebro valley became an enormous frontier area in the face of Christianity. The rápitas, Islamic sites that housed Muslim worshippers who went from the Ribāṭ to the Border, played a part in its consolidation and defence. In addition, their location in the space responds to the use of natural resources.
