New public school "San Roque", Villavieja, Antequera, and San Juan Streets: "action on the east side of the wall" (Alicante Old Town).
The archaeological work carried out on the south-eastern section of the Alicante city wall has allowed us, among other things, to document the different construction phases of this defensive element. The section runs from Calle Villavieja, the central axis of the medina, up the steep slope of Mount Benacantil to culminate in the Castle of Santa Bárbara, the original Islamic Alcazar.
