The "Casa del horno" of the Illeta dels Banyets (El Campello, Alicante): an esparto grass workshop in Iberian Contestania

This paper presents a review of the ancient documentation concerning a building from the Iberian period at the site of Illeta dels Banyets (El Campello, Alicante), excavated by E. Llobregat, as well as a study of its architecture and function in the economic activity of the enclave, contrasting those data with recent information obtained thanks to the museumisation work carried out by the MARQ and the Architecture Department of the Alicante Provincial Council. The main objectives of the work consist of updating knowledge about this building and concluding whether it is a production or storage space related to the manufacture of esparto grass. To this end, all the material conserved from old excavations will be reviewed and contrasted with everything recently published on the Illeta dels Banyets, specifically rooms Ib1, 2 and 3, corresponding to the "oven house".
