Archaeological intervention in the opening of c/ Castillo. Castillo del Aljau (Aspe, Alicante)

In 2010 an archaeological intervention was carried out, promoted by the Aspe Town Council, in the framework of the extension of the C/Castillo, in the northern area of the municipality of Aspe (Alicante). A first phase of archaeological soundings was carried out, which were positive at the archaeological level.
concentrated in the central area. The result has been the discovery of a fortification and an annexed settlement, the Castillo y Arrabal del Aljau, which developed between the 14th and 17th centuries.
