ARCHAEOLOGY AND UNIVERSITY

In 1988, a group of archaeology professors, headed by
by Alberto Balil and Manuel Bendala, presented
at the Secretary of State for Universities and Research
two proposals for the creation of a bachelor's degree
in Prehistory and Archaeology or, failing that, of an
second cycle of the same denomination. None of these
proposals were successful and the first opportunity to
to create a university archaeology in accordance with the changes
that were taking place in society
