On the constructive remains of earth in archaeology and the methodology for their macroscopic study.
The study of the constructive remains of hardened clay provides highly relevant data on the constructive activities and architectural forms of past societies. Unfortunately, in many cases, these elements are still not considered as a relevant object of research, which means a very important loss of information for archaeology that can no longer be recovered. There is still a long way to go in this type of research, and if it is to become normalised and more frequent, we need to pay more attention to the methodology to be used in it. This will also make it possible to have a dialogue about it, to enrich it, improve it and keep it up to date with the advances in other approaches and analytical techniques that make the study of these materials more complete. With this article, we are proposing the methodological procedures involved in their analysis by means of direct observation, and at the same time, we hope to contribute to continue making visible, facilitating and promoting the
study of this evidence.
