New public school "San Roque", streets Villavieja, Antequera, and San Juan: "El Oratorio Rupestre" (Old Town, Alicante)
The construction of the "San Roque" public school, at the end of the Villavieja neighbourhood, has made it possible to document, from archaeological postulates, a rock face of Mount Benacantil where a series of niches and a cave chamber were built at an ancient date, which is difficult to specify. The latter has a quadrangular floor plan and features carvings in the rock,
a set of elements: niches, benches and indentations that are related to a cultic use.
