MARQ. Activities report 2007-2008

After winning the European Museum of the Year Award in 2004 in Athens, the C.V. MARQ Foundation took on the challenge of holding the 2007 European Museum Forum in Alicante.
presided over by Queen Fabiola of Belgium, accompanied by the President of the Provincial Council of Alicante. This celebration has been of enormous importance for the MARQ which, as host museum, consolidates the repercussion it achieved at European level with the Athens award. The success of this event in any case belongs to the Diputación de Alicante, and to all the staff who made it possible. Its realisation in 2007 makes a whole ephemeris of the 75th anniversary of the Museum and the fifth since the inauguration of the MARQ. To mark the occasion, a large panel with photographs of the history of the Museum was installed in the MARQ ticket office.
