In the first decade of the 21st century, research into the prehistory of the
in Alicante has achieved outstanding goals. Great
part of this is due to the involvement of different institutions
such as the universities of Alicante, Valencia and La Laguna.
and the archaeological museums such as the municipal museum of Alcoy
and the Provincial Council of Alicante, as an institution that, from
1991 reinforces the research of that stage with creation,
thanks to the then director, Enrique Llobregat, of a place in the
specialised within the museum's curatorial staff
and undertakes multidisciplinary research programmes.
From 2000 onwards, a renewed MARQ has demonstrated its firm commitment to the
commitment to the research, conservation and dissemination of
the prehistory of our province.
