The Champollion Project. National Archaeological Museum.
The Champollion project is the result of close collaboration between ten museums in different European countries with Egyptology collections. Thanks to funding from the European Union and within the framework of the Info 2000 programme, it was possible to create a research group made up of different specialists. This project includes the development of a Multilingual Thesaurus of Egyptology, the IEDS (Integrated Egyptological Database System) database and a hieroglyphic text processing program (Glyph for Windows 1.2). The information is accessible through simple or advanced searches and is available in seven European languages. As a result of this experience, the series Egyptian Treasures in Europe was published on CD-ROM, which allows access to and dissemination of European Egyptian collections.
