The Andalusian rural settlement in the middle Vinalopó valley: Results of the archaeological surveys in the Alquería de Puça (Petrer, Alicante).
This research aims to enrich the knowledge of the Andalusian settlement in the middle Vinalopó valley through the study of a farmhouse located on its banks. In this way, we seek to complete past proposals regarding the territorial organisation defined on the basis of the fortified centres (ḥuṣūn), which could not be explained without a network of farmhouses (qurā) with an agrarian vocation within a larger territorial and political system. The Puça farmhouse will be approached on the basis of an intensive survey and the study of documented materials that will allow us to make proposals about its urban and chronological characteristics. This study has a historical perspective in the longue durée, forming part of one of the objectives of the General Research Plan "The territory of Bitrir/Petrer (10th-15th centuries). Towards the origins of a medieval landscape (Petrer, Alicante)".
