The National Archaeological Museum (Spain), Challenges and Concepts
The National Archaeological Museum, with its important and inalienable historical importance, is immersed in a complex process of change, motivated both by the necessary renovation of its facilities and by the thrust of 21st century society, and particularly by the change in its role within the framework of Spanish archaeological museums. This situation is pushing us towards new formulations, necessarily different from those that inspired its early years and which it basically maintained throughout most of the 20th century, in order to establish a new model that is in keeping with the current times.
