Domus and the management of museum collections

Domus is a computer application for museum management developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture, whose vocation is to help museum technicians in their daily work, to serve as an initial model for the definition of technical work processes, helping to standardise activity in the various institutions, and to act as a support for the establishment of a collective catalogue of the cultural assets held by Spanish museums. The text describes some of its main characteristics and the evolution of the project.
