The fact that a professional of the stature of Blas Cloquell has given 188 copies of his personal library to the Diputación de Alicante in a completely disinterested manner is a gesture worthy of praise and gratitude. As of today, these publications have been incorporated into the Library of the MARQ, Archaeological Museum of Alicante, where they can be consulted by anyone interested in the subjects they deal with. Many of these copies are manuals or essays on palaeontology, palaeopathology or archaeology and we also find valuable publications dealing with anthropological, ethnological or art-related subjects.
This is just a small act of recognition of the enormous generosity of Blas Cloquell in having chosen the Diputación de Alicante as the repository, as well as the disseminator, of these 188 books which are of enormous value, both intrinsically and for dealing with subjects of great relevance to a library specialising in Archaeology and related sciences such as that of the Museo Arqueológico de Alicante. The donation also includes out-of-print or hard-to-find books and copies of serial publications that the MARQ Library had incomplete.
