
The summer activities campaign in the Archaeological Museum of Alicante will kick off on 30 June with the 21st edition of 'Veranea', the MARQ Summer School.
As the deputy for Culture explained, Juan de Dios NavarroThe proposal comprises a total of 25 hours per weekThe museum is open from Monday to Friday and is aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 12. The participants will visit all the museum's rooms, accompanied by the guides and monitors of Club Llumiq The MARQ CV Foundation, to carry out didactic workshops -reproductions of pieces or archaeological works- and to elaborate the didactic notebooks adapted to the summer campaign; as well as thematic games, gymkhanas and competitions. "Activities organised in a fun way and adapted to the ages of the pupils, so that they have access to culture while still enjoying their summer holidays."said Navarro.
In this edition of 'Veranea the thematic focus will be on the current exhibition which house the temporary galleries of the MARQ, Cities of LightThe permanent rooms and the thematic rooms will also be an interesting resource to complement the activities and contents to be developed.
Veranea' was created with the aim of discovering the history of the city of Alicante, from its most distant past to its medieval origins, and to recognise the the role of archaeology as a vehicle for historical knowledgeThe European Union is also committed to valuing and protecting our historical, cultural, environmental and archaeological heritage.
The summer school, which will end on Friday 22 August, features 45 places available per week and the activities will take place in the MARQ gardens and inside the museum (visits to rooms and library), classrooms and assembly hall.
