The Cova de l'Or archaeological sitelocated in Beniarréswill close its cultural activity to the public next Monday until the end of September to avoid the high summer temperatures. The Fundación CV MARQ, together with the local council, manages this interesting proposal, which offers visitors a complete tour of both the Interpretation Centre and the site itself.
The Deputy for Culture, Juan de Dios NavarroHe thanked the Beniarrés town council for all their collaboration and support in this project".which is celebrating its fourth anniversary and which has already been enjoyed by more than 3,000 people since its launch in June 2021, which has been a major boost for a municipality of barely a thousand inhabitants.". The deputy also stressed that "the Diputación's commitment not only to the enhancement of our historical and cultural heritage, but also to the municipalities at risk of depopulation, in this case, through two first-rate resources that also offer the opportunity to take a suggestive route of cultural and scenic interest that begins at the Interpretation Centre located in the town centre of the locality itself".
The Cova de l'Or is a archaeological site of international reference from the Neolithic period. which has been promoted as a site museum by the Provincial Council, through the areas of Architecture and Culture. This process, which began in 2016, has included the improvement of the accesses and the conditioning of the exterior of the cave to facilitate visits. Other safety and accessibility measures have also been adopted with the installation of a walkway to access the interior.
The activity, available Saturdays and Sundaysbegins with a guided visit to the Interpretation Centre which includes a tour of the museum and the projection of a video to contextualise the space and its surroundings. From there, the itinerary continues by vehicle -included in the service offered-. to the start of the trail leading to the site.
