MARQ is joining the awareness campaign against climate change "Earth Hour 2025", and will switch off the museum's exterior lighting for one hour between 20:30 and 21:30 on Saturday 22 March.
This initiative began in Sydney (Australia) in 2007 and is now being carried out in approximately 187 countries. Promoted globally by WWF, the proposal is to switch off the lights of the most emblematic spaces around the world for 60 minutes as a symbol of the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss.
The MARQ thus joins one of the most significant actions for Earth Hour with the switching off of lights on iconic Spanish façades such as those of Burgos Cathedral, the Cervantes Institute and the Cibeles Fountain (Madrid), the Sagrada Familia and the Basilica of Santa María del Mar (Barcelona) or the Alhambra and the Generalife (Granada).
