
The Archaeological Museum of the Diputación de Alicante (Alicante Provincial Council) will introduce summer opening hours from next week, which will also be adapted in the archaeological sites and monuments. In addition, the museum will increase the number of guided and dramatised visits to the temporary exhibition 'Cities of Light'.
The Fundación CV MARQ has adapted the opening hours of both the Museum and the archaeological sites of La Illeta in El Campello, Lucentum in Albufereta, La Cova de l'Or in Beniarrés and El Pla de Petracos in Castell de Castells, as well as the Almohad Tower in Almudaina and the Cava Gran in Agres. to bring them into line with summer time, 17 June to 14 September.
During the summer period, the MARQ will open its doors from Tuesday to Saturday for ten hours without interruption, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. and on Sundays and public holidays, from 10:00 to 14:00. The sites of La Illeta and Lucentum will be open from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00 hours, and on Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 to 13:00 hours. On Mondays all the centres will be closed to the public.
In addition, with daylight saving time, the guided and dramatised tours will be increased and adapted to the rigours of summer. The timetables for the different visits to the temporary exhibition -in Spanish, Valencian, English and French-, the sites of La Illeta and Lucentum, the Almudaina tower and the Cova de l'Or in Beniarrés can be consulted on the museum's website. In the open-air areas it is advisable to bring a cap, a bottle of water and sun protection.
The facilities and the site of the Cova de l'Or in Beniarrés will be closed from the weekend of 12 and 13 July until 7 September.. The Cava Gran de Agres free to visit, subject to the regulations of the Serra Mariola Natural Park and the El Pla de Petracos in Castell de Castells remains temporarily closed.
