MARQ adapts its opening hours to the winter season

From 16 September the museum will be open from 10am to 7pm.

The MARQ, the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, adapts its opening hours to the winter season and from Tuesday 16th September it will be open to the public uninterruptedly from 10am to 7pm, from Tuesday to Saturday and from 10am to 2pm on Sundays and public holidays. In this way, the CV MARQ Foundation adapts the opening hours not only of the museum but also of the archaeological sites and the Almudaina Almohad Tower to the winter season.

At the archaeological sites of La Illeta in El Campello and from Lucentum, in the Albufereta in AlicanteFrom 16 September the winter opening hours will be from Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 15:30 to 17:30. On Sundays and public holidays the opening hours will be from 10 am to 2 pm. On Mondays, both the museum and the archaeological sites will be closed to visitors for maintenance work and for the rest of the public service staff.

With regard to the Almudaina Almohad TowerThe opening hours will be from Tuesday to Sunday and holidays from 10 am to 1 pm, remaining open to the public on Saturday afternoons from 4 pm to 7 pm. It will also be closed to the public on Mondays.

At Castell de Castellsthe Rock Art Interpretation Centre In winter, the museum is open for visits from Monday to Thursday only by appointment by phoning 965 51 80 67 and on Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 1.30pm and from 5pm to 7.30pm. Sundays from 11am to 1.30pm.

For the time being, the Cova de l'Or in Beniarrés It is expected to remain closed to the public until 11 October, when the excavations and improvements to the site, which are being carried out by the Department of Architecture of the Provincial Council of Alicante, are expected to be completed.

The visit to the Cava Gran de Agres will continue to be free to visit, subject to the regulations of the Serra Mariola Natural Park.
