MARQ hosts its traditional Blood and Plasma Donation Marathon on Monday 9 June

  

The MARQ Archaeological Museum will host the next Monday 9 June on VIII Blood and Plasma Donation Marathonwhich will take place in the assembly hall from 9:30 am to 9:00 pm, organised by ASISA and the Transfusion Centre of the Community of Valencia with the collaboration of the Alicante Provincial Council and Alicante City Council.

The President of the Diputación de Alicante, Toni PérezThe importance of this type of initiative was underlined, ".essential to cover the demand for blood in the hospitals of our province."He also appealed to the generosity of the citizens, ".because donation is a key to the treatment, recovery and lives of many patients.".

The institutional responsible also recalled that the provincial institution has been collaborating since 2003 with the CV Transfusion Centre in the development of campaigns that are carried out in spaces such as the MARQ or the Provincial Palace itself. "These solidarity days allow us to raise awareness of a social need that we must integrate into our daily lives and, above all, to share it and extend it to our young people, so that they are aware of the extraordinary help that a symbolic but vital gesture represents."Toni Pérez insisted, and announced that the MARQ will give each donor a free ticket to the museum".

In the seven previous editions, a total of 2,987 donations were recorded, of which 402 were first-time donors. These figures show the commitment of the people of Alicante to blood donation and the success of this initiative. This year, in addition, donors will have the opportunity to contribute by means of plasma donations. The CTCV launched the campaign 'Shape your Generosity'. to inform and raise awareness of the importance of this type of donation.
