The Generalitat Valenciana earmarks 175,000 euros for this collaboration.
The Consell has approved the collaboration agreement between the Consellería de Educación, Cultura, Universidades y Empleo and the Fundación de la Comunidad Valenciana MARQ to contribute to the running costs of this Alicante institution.
The Generalitat allocates 175,000 euros with the aim of promoting the work carried out by this entity in the preservation, knowledge and dissemination of Valencian archaeological heritage, especially in the municipalities of the province of Alicante where archaeological sites are located.
These sites include the properties of the Diputación de Alicante, such as the Illeta (El Campello); the Tossal de Manises-Lucentum (Alicante); the Cava Gran (Agres) and the Torre Almohade (Almudaina), as well as the Centro de Interpretación del Arte Rupestre and the Pla de Petracos site in Castell de Castells and the Centro de Interpretación and the Neolithic site of La Cueva.
MARQ Valencian Community Foundation
The Fundación Comunitat Valenciana MARQ is a non-profit cultural and scientific entity, with its own legal personality and headquarters in the building of the Archaeological Museum of Alicante, owned by the Provincial Council.
It was established in 2001 as a modern management formula to complement and facilitate the work of this museum space. Since 2022, the Generalitat, through the Ministry of Culture, has been collaborating with this organisation through annual agreements.
