Agricultural and forestry exploitation in the area around Cabezo Pardo (San Isidro-Granja de Rocamora, Alicante): plant remains from the emirial levels. (2019)

By: Carrión Marco, Yolanda, Pérez Jordá, Guillem, Ximénez de Embún Sánchez, Mª Teresa

The results of the analysis of the plant remains from the emirial levels of the Cabezo Pardo site are presented. The material recovered includes charcoal and seeds from various structures in the farmstead. Although an area of habitation has been documented on the hill, with hearths and dumps, the storage function of the site stands out, with silos and large buildings. The plant remains associated with these structures indicate the exploitation of plants from the surrounding area for various purposes, including fuel, construction and food.
