Argaric bronze
2,300-1,600 BC
Metal halberd with a central rib and an indeterminable number of folds (between two and five) to hold the mallet, of which the remains of the wood are preserved. It has a cloth filling -possibly plain- adhering to the surface of the fulla, preserved thanks to the corrosion of the copper sulphur.
This type of fish is characteristic of the Argaric artefacts from the Early and Middle Bronze Age in the south-east and numerous examples have been found in the south of Alicante, especially at the sites of San Antón and Las Laderas del Castillo, excavated at the beginning of the 20th century by the Jesuit Julio Furgús.
