THE MIDDLE AGES
Level: Primary

VISIT:
With the visit to the Middle Ages room, students will identify the essential features of Islamic and Christian cultures and their coexistence, and will recognise the
new cities, as the current basis of our cities. To do this they will use the didactic tools in the rooms as well as the archaeological objects themselves. They will be able to "visit" one of the most important constructions of the Middle Ages thanks to the thematic rooms and will observe the archaeologist's excavation methodology.

►POTTERY WORKSHOP

We will turn the workshop into a pottery workshop and we will make Islamic decorative motifs on a plate, so that the pupils will appreciate the craftsmanship.

► WORKSHOP OF MINSTRELS AND PUPPETS.
(1ST/2ND CYCLE OF PRIMARY SCHOOL)
Funny puppets will show the children what life was like in the Middle Ages. After the show they will be able to make their own puppet imitating one of the characters.

►WORKSHOP OF THE MEDIEVAL GUILDS.
(2ND CYCLE OF PRIMARY SCHOOL)

In the Middle Ages, each trade was represented by an engraved tin plate. Each pupil will make a plaque imagining what his/her job would have been in medieval times.

►MEET A CASTLE.
(1st and 2nd STAGE OF PRIMARY SCHOOL)
The little ones will make a great effort to build a big castle, with the most important parts of the castle and design their own flag. Through this construction they will learn to differentiate the parts and elements that make up a castle.

►SCRIPTORIUM.
In this workshop, the students will learn about the great importance of the
of writing in the Middle Ages, the copying of books in the
monasteries and miniated monasteries. The pupils will use
quill, inkwell and parchment paper, like a real
Medieval writers.



MODERN AGE
Level: Primary

VISIT:
Through a large screen in the Modern and Contemporary Ages room, the students will be able to witness the changes that have taken place in the modern and contemporary ages.
The visit to the Urban Archaeology thematic room will allow you to observe the archaeological methodology used in the archaeological excavation of the city. The visit to the thematic room of Urban Archaeology will allow them to observe the archaeological methodology

►TILE WORKSHOP.
The pupils will make a tile based on the example of those observed during the visit to the room. Through the tiles, they will be able to understand and learn in detail about aspects of the daily life of people who lived 200 years ago, such as clothing or daily utensils.

►FANS WORKSHOP.

In this workshop the pupils will reproduce the techniques of painting on fans, using as an example those that MARQ has in the Modern Age room.



THEMATIC WORKSHOPS
CERAMICS TRAVELS THROUGH HISTORY
Level: Primary


VISIT + WORKSHOP ( 2H) / MAX.50 / DIDACTIC MATERIAL: TEACHER: " THE MARQ IN PRIMARY SCHOOL " / PUPIL: OFFPRINT OF THE GUIDE "EL MARQ EN PRIMARIA" / GUIDE: "EL SERETO DEL BARRO" / GUIDE: "EL SERETO DEL BARRO" / GUIDE: "EL SERETO DEL BARRO" / GUIDE: "EL SERETO DEL BARRO". 

The students will visit the Prehistory, Iberian, Roman Culture and Middle Ages room, stopping at the Ceramics showcases. We will explain their shapes, manufacturing process, materials, decorative styles, uses, their importance in archaeological research, characteristics, etc..., etc. We will also visit the thematic rooms where in the different strata there are ceramics corresponding to each of the aforementioned cultures.

►WORKSHOP
Using the technique of "la pella or bola" and the "colombín" technique, they will make their prehistoric ceramics, which they will then decorate with the technique of their choice: cardial,
We will then explain how a potter's wheel works and how to decorate their Iberian pottery with the characteristic motifs of the different styles present in this culture, and with the Romans we will learn about "terra sigilata", practising its production with a mould. We will see examples of pottery from the Middle Ages.



THEMATIC WORKSHOPS
BONES AND ARCHAEOLOGY
Level: Primary



VISIT + WORKSHOP ( 2H) / MAX.50 / DIDACTIC MATERIAL: TEACHER: " THE MARQ IN PRIMARY SCHOOL " / PUPIL: OFFPRINT OF THE GUIDE "THE MARQ IN PRIMARY SCHOOL". )

The pupils will visit four rooms in the museum - Prehistory, Iberians, Roman Culture and the Middle Ages - focusing on aspects related to the world of burials. They will learn about the evolution of burial customs, grave goods and types of tombs throughout the different historical periods. They will also visit the thematic rooms containing remains of funerary materials and strata with tombs in order to appreciate them in their excavation context.

►WORKSHOP
They will discover the wealth of information that can be extracted through the study of human bones found in burials: the age of the deceased, the sex (male or female), the diseases contracted in life, ..... They will become familiar with the parts of the skeleton that provide the most information and will use the record cards used in grave excavations.
