Transcription of some funerary inscriptions from LUCENTUM

Funerary monuments of various sizes were placed along the Roman roads at the entrances to the cities, marking the burial sites along their banks. This can be seen in the reconstruction of the access to Lucentum or on the Via dei Sepulchi, which led to the Herculaneum gate in Pompeii.

It was also found in Lucentum a funerary sculpture of a character dressed in pallium (the toga of the Republican period). We know he is a young man from the pendant (bulla) hanging from their necks, worn by the freeborn.
