What is the contribution of the Alicante Archaeological Museum to the JEP?

Invited by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, through the Directorate General of Culture and Heritage of the Generalitat Valenciana, the MARQ will highlight projects of educational centres in the province of Alicante, in which the common objective is the dissemination of heritage for the enjoyment and knowledge of citizens..

It all begins...

In 2016, under the slogan EVERYONE'S HERITAGEwhose main objective is the dissemination of heritage in which people take on a special role, precisely because of the citizen initiatives that involve themselves in carrying out processes of heritage preservation, documentation, enhancement or conservation. In our case, the educational community linked to MARQ.

OUR EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS

The museum is concentrating its campaign of activities between 9 and 16 October 2016. Starting with open day on Sunday 9 October and educational workshops for children, which will be specially themed to celebrate the feast of the 9 d'octubre, Day of the Valencian Community.

On Tuesday 11th at 11:30 a.m., the presentation of the educational project will take place in the museum's auditorium. The Colony of Santa Eulalia: Experience it. A unique and collective heritage. Silvestre Navarro, coordinator of the project, and Josep Albert Cortés, Manager of the MARQ, will explain to the media what this initiative consists of, which is part of the ethnological site of La Colonia de Santa Eulalia, located in the Alto Vinalopó region of Alicante, between the municipalities of Sax and Villena. The project involves 9 schools, 50 teachers, pupils and other educational bodies and several town councils.

Once again, coinciding with the public holiday on Wednesday 12 October, MARQ is offering another open day in which thousands of citizens will be able to enjoy its exhibitions free of charge.

In the same week will take place, both in the museum and in Villajoyosa, the III International Congress on Education and Accessibility in Museums and Heritage". At the event, national and international experts and professionals will analyse the need to promote accessible cultural and natural tourism, both indoors and outdoors. Finally, on Sunday 16 October, under the motto HERITAGE AND COMMUNITIES. A MARQ FOR EVERYONEThe week of the European Heritage Days will close with a wide range of guided and dramatised tours in temporary exhibitions (Vikings. Warriors of the North. Giants of the Sea) and permanent exhibition. In addition to workshops for families and cultural routes inside the museum.
